As an undergraduate student in the bachelor of science degree program in Computer Science at MSU Denver, you will develop computational thinking skills and apply those skills to design computer-based systems that solve problems in everyday life. Ultimately, you will learn the principles and practices necessary for a successful career in the dynamic fields of Computer Science and Software Engineering. This Computer Science major provides students with broad-based preparation in Computer Science with the appropriate supporting mathematics background.

To support students majoring in technology and other fields, MSU Denver awards the Howerton Memorial Scholarship each spring semester to Computer Information Systems or Computer Science majors and Social Work or Sociology majors in alternating years.

Facilities and Resources

In Fall 2017, the Computer Science group moved to the new MSU Denver Aerospace and Engineering Sciences Building. Funded in part by a $1 million gift from Lockheed Martin, the state-of-the-art building features 90,000 square feet of experiential and collaborative learning space that integrates programs in: Computer Science, Industrial Design and Civil, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Technology.
