You must report work and income changes to ensure timely and accurate payments.

Information you need to report

Changes in work status

• Stop working, change a job, or receive a new job offer
• Begin or end self-employment
• Have an increase or decrease of work hours or pay

Income from work

• Wages from work if your gross monthly income is more than $1,050 per month

Other income

• Workers’ compensation benefits
• Public disability from a state or local government

Disability recovery

• Significant improvement so your medical condition no longer affects your ability to work

If you earn more than $1,050 gross income per month, report your wages online through your Social Security account.

Other income

Getting workers’ compensation and public disability from a state or local government may affect your payment amount.
